# Migrate to Devin from another coding agent

> Copy your rules and workflows from other coding agents into Devin with one prompt. Your other agents’ files stay as they are.

1. Open your repository in Devin Cloud or Devin Desktop.

2. Start a session and paste this prompt:

   ```text theme={null}
   Find the rules, skills, and workflows that other coding agents use in this repo.
   Set them up so they work in both Devin Cloud and Devin Local:

   - Add any project rules that are missing to AGENTS.md.
   - Save each reusable workflow as .agents/skills/<name>/SKILL.md, with a name and description.
   - If a rule only applies to certain files or folders, keep it that way.
   - Don’t delete or change the original files.
   - Skip duplicates. Never copy secrets.

   When you’re done, list what you changed. Don’t turn on hooks or MCP servers.
   List them so I can set them up myself.
   ```

3. Review the changes and commit them. Future sessions in Cloud and Desktop will use them.

**Is your old setup only on your computer?** Paste those instructions into the session. Leave out API keys, tokens and passwords.
